The 2024 Version of the SCS Hiring Framework will be retired January 1, 2026.
Since January 2024, HR departments and hiring managers have taken important steps to modernize Louisiana's hiring practices
by using steps 1 through 3 of the SCS Hiring Framework when posting designated job titles.
These foundational steps help teams identify the right competencies, select meaningful work examples,
and use stronger supplemental questions that bring skills to the forefront. While SCS recommends using all six steps
to get the full benefits of the upgraded framework, only the first three steps are currently required
and will remain the required components moving forward.
The 2026 version of the SCS Hiring Framework materials will be available for agency use beginning January 1, 2026, and will be required effective March 1, 2026.
During this transition period, agencies may use either the 2024 version or the 2026 version.
The components of each version are not interchangeable, so agencies must use one full version or the other.
February 27, 2026, will be the final day to post a job using the 2024 version.
