CPTP SCS ADA Compliance WBT

SCS is proud to announce the release of our newest course: CPTP SCS ADA Compliance WBT. This course includes 3 separate tracks: one for the agency ADA coordinator, one for supervisors and one for employees. This course satisfies the training requirements mandated by the Office of the State Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator pursuant to La. R.S. 46:2595.

In 2022, through the State As a Model Employer (SAME) initiative, the Louisiana state government committed to serving as a model employer by improving hiring, recruitment and retention of individuals with disabilities. The overall goal is for seven percent (7%) of the workforce in each executive branch state agency to be comprised of individuals living with a disability.

As state employees, we can help our state meet this goal. We have an opportunity to advocate for disability inclusion in our agency's programs, services, and employment practices, by complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

This course will provide a general overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act and review the participant’s role in the interactive ADA process. Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Give an overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Define key terms associated with the ADA
  • Explain their role in the ADA Interactive Process

The course can be found in LaGov Learn by using the search term 'ADA' or by looking in the featured course section.
